Haris is 1 year old

Haris turned one year old on 21st May 2008. I was away to JB, and luckily managed to get flight ticket for me to depart early in the morning and be back after maghrib the same day.

I asked my sister to bake a cake, and we decorated it upon me reaching home that night. I can barely open my eyes, was so exhausted.

Nevertheless, the kids are so happy except the birthday boy. Too small to understand. Kakak & Abang, already bought presents for Haris, paid by the father, on their way back from school.

Alive & kicking

We're back. Spent 4 days at the land of the kangaroo, with hubby & Haris tagged along. It's autumn, cloudy day everyday.

Few Updates

I was quiet for some time. Malas nak update. Anyway, here goes few events which I manage to recall at this moment;

Raya Haji @ Jengka

I called Balai Polis Jengka & Karak to make sure our route are flood-free. Nevertheless, traffic was very heavy the day before Raya. Budak2 semua dah restless. Supposedly the journey only takes 3 hours, but the traffic already bumper-to-bumper starting from KL lagi. We reached my house after 6 hours of driving. Sabar je la..

About Haris

I notice Haris' development was quite advanced compared to Kakak & Abang. By 4 months he can lie on his stomach unaided, then move forward commando-style by 5th months, managed to sit wiggly by 6th months, and crawl by 7 months, which was during Hari Raya Haji. One week after that, he can stand by holding on things. How time flies.

The kids started school

We registered the kids during the very last minutes, which was actually 3 days before school start. We intend to send both kids at the same school as Husna's last year, but there's transport problem. At last, the teacher agreed to sent the kids home. Problem solved.

So this is Husna's second year at the school, and on the other hand, totally new environment for Haikal. Nevertheless, Haikal was very cool on his first day of school, since he was always accompanied by Kakak, and he knows almost all Husna's friends & teachers. (Kakak balik sekolah selalu cerita, & dia pun selalu berangan pi sekolah & befriended Husna's friends - sort of Husna's friends were his imaginary friend).

Since there's no hassle, we left the kids at school early and went for windows shopping & lunchdate at Eastin - using free vouchers courtesy from the training I attended during Ramadhan last year .

Husna's Birthday Party

This year, my Husna has turned 6. We celebrated ala kadar je. It's a small gathering. Husna invited few of her friends at school, while we invited few close neighbours & friends. I baked Husna birthday cake, it's a Barbie Cake which the cake pan I bought at ebay. I bake my kids' birthday cake, it's another way to save. I cook few dishes like Spaghetti Marinara, Pizza & Mihun goreng, and accompanied by trifles as the desert. The day before, we pack some goodies for the kids.

It's exhausting, but we're happy to see she's happy.

Short trip - Ganu

During Raya holiday, we managed to slip to Terengganu for Cuti-cuti Malaysia. The last time I went there was like 10 years back, but not much changes to the place, I think.

We went shopping tak ingat at Pasar Payang. End up , we unintentionally left baby's stroller on the roadside while piling up loads of shopping bags into the car during the heavy rain. *sigh* . Whoever found the stroller, we all sedekah je la.

Raya entry

Tahun ni raya kat Kota Tinggi. First day raya, jalan2 rumah jiran terdekat. 2nd day raya , jalan2 kat kampung sebelah, pi rumah Mohen & rumah member Azhar. Third day raya, singgah rumah nenek Azhar, then balik Pahang. Nothing much to story about raya, standard agenda je, jalan/makan (ulang 100x) :P

Raya mood

Ramadhan dah almost coming to end. Will be going back to Kota Tinggi for raya on Wednesday.. then to Pahang on the 3rd day of raya. Kuih raya dah siap, buat sekadar yg termampu. Ade la dalam 10 jenis.. hahah.. actually it was more experimenting with new recipes using my new Europa. Cepatnya siap kerja compared to my cute 24 litres oven yang dah 5 tahun berjasa.


On the other hand, budak2 dah start main bunga api from the first week of Ramadhan. Despite being banned, senang je rupanya nak cari. Ade je jual kat pasar Ramadhan / Pasar malam. Nak order bunga api kat opis pun ade.. heheh..

Will be having Smart Orange training tomorrow. Boringnya training time org dah nak cuti2. Bulan pose lak tu. Attended the 1st class last 2 weeks, and was given few assignments. Tomorrow will be the 2nd class, but have not even started a single word for the assignment. Camno tuh? Planning to do half during sahur this morning, and another half during the class itself.. hehe (pray I will not being picked up to present, else kantoi).

Udang Supreme

Saje nak share resepi yg simple utk bukak pose. Jumpa resepi ni dlm RASA, tapi dah di alter sikit2.

Bahan :

1. Udang


2. Bawang merah


3. Bawang putih


4. Halia


5. Cili besar


6. Sostiram


7. Kicap manis


8. Kicap cair


9. Daun limau purut

Cara2:

1. Goreng udang sekejap. Agak udang dah tukar kaler terus je angkat.


2. Kisar kasar bahan 2-5. Patutnya kena cincang halus, tapi nak cepat blend je.


3. Tumis bahan kisar, masukkan bahan 6-8 secukup rasa. Tambah air sikit kalau taknak pekat sangat


4. Masukkan udang & daun limau purut (kalu ikut resepi actually guna daun kari - tapi takde stok so guna je la daun ape2 yg ade kat fridge). Kacau rata2, bila dah mendidih je bulih la angkat


5. Siap utk dimakan.

Flora & Fauna

On Merdeka's eve, we went to a dinner at Singgahsana organised by Husna's school. One of the agenda was Pakaian Beragam with Flora & Fauna theme. Husna did not win any prizes, nevertheless, they had fun with Haikal pun menyebuk sama.

Was being informed of the Dinner the day before. So after work, I rushed to Warta and bought some artificial flowers, and attached them to her jacket and hat using safety-pins. Done within 1/2 hour, we rushed to the hotel early to avoid heavy traffic due to road closure.

Our Shining Star..

Today is Haikal's 4th Birthday. Bought his gift @ MidValley on my way to BRF. And upon reaching home, whipped some buttercream and use yesterday's leftover buttercake, for his birthday cake. Cincai2 jek, asalkan ade..

Little Hideaway

Last weekend, we went to our future-little-hideaway @ Pedas NS for a site visit. Not much of progress since our last visit. Saw Dato' Wahid & his family. I had a chat with his wife, with their 2 small daughters tagged along, aged 4 yrs & 3 yrs. Had a feast of free local fruits & nasik lemak. Cant wait to see the place grow.

Life after pantang..

Started working 2 weeks ago. Been very2 busy.. tak nyempat2 nak berpoya2 kat tempat kerja.. and tak sempat gak nak pi gym after office. camne nak maintain ramping balik nih.. ? hehe..
